- Practitioner member is engaged in full or part time employment primarily in dispute resolution or dispute management
- Member has a personal or professional interest in dispute resolution or dispute management
- Retired member has ceased professional employment
- Student member is a full or part time student with an intert in dispute resolution or dispute management
- Organisational member is an organisation with an interest in the development, process and/or use of dispute resolution or dispute management

- Honarary Life Membership may be awarded to any person who has exceptional and outstanding contribution to the development and/or objects of the Association. At the 2009 it was agreed:
- To be considered for Life Membership, a nominee shall be:
- 1. be involved with ADRA for at least 15 years
- 2. Have a significant current identity relating to ADRA
- 3. Have made a significant contribution to the ADR community
- 4. Be an elder in the community
- The nomination shall proposed and seconded and approved by the Board
- ADRA's Life Members are Sir Laurence Street, Micheline Dewdney, Ruth Charlton and Linda Fisher
